Six Elements of Quality Care

It is quite a challenge to provide a high quality of care to someone in our families for different reasons and situations. Where do I even begin on how to take good care of my loved one? These 6 elements of quality can lay down the foundation for how we provide the necessary care our loved ones deserve.

A. Safe. Eliminate all potential actualities that may cause harm, injury or hurt to patients. Cultivating a culture of safety or a safe environment is a key foundation for quality health care.

B. Effective. Supply a fact-based system of care that can attain the needed outcomes for the health of patients.

C. Patient-centered. Giving hands to serve and heart to love will always give priority to patient needs that will make them feel respected, wanted, loved and well-cared for.

D. Timely. Prompt and quick service, lessening delays, eliminating wait times to treat and diagnose hastily, saves lives and improves health.

E. Efficient. Avoid the unnecessary use of resources, including time, supplies, energy, thoughts and equipment.

F. Equitable. To walk humbly, love mercy, be just, and always serve with a willing heart, regardless of gender, ethnicity, economic and educational status across all demographics, with consistency, fairness, unprejudiced, unbiased and nondiscriminatory, is the final key element, foundational to quality care of our patients.
